Hence why we have created a step-by-step guide on how to reset a Ford key fob. We want you to drive happy, Murrells Inlet!
- Only open the driver side door and push the “Unlock” button
- Turn the ignition to “Off” then to “Run” eight times in a ten-second window
- You want the ignition to end on “Run” to enter the programming mode
- The doors of your Ford vehicle will lock and unlock several times. In the instance that they do not, you will need to start the process over.
- Push any button on your Ford key fob within the eight-second interval to begin programming.
- The car doors will lock, which is confirmation that you have reset your Ford key fob for keyless entry!
How to Program Multiple Ford Key Fobs

Reset a Ford Intelligent Access Key Fob
Do you need to reset a Ford key fob that has Ford Intelligent Access? No sweat, here is how you program a new Ford key fob or any spare key fobs for the same Ford vehicle:
- Put your unprogrammed Intelligent Access key fob in the pocket of the center console, as well as, two already programmed keys inside your Ford
- On the driver and passenger sides, press the door unlock button three times
- Push down on the brake pedal and release it one time
- You should see the “Start/Stop” button indicator flash, which means that you are in the programming mode
- Within a minute of being in the programming mode, you need to press the “Start/Stop” button again.
- Look for a message that will appear on the display screen when the new key is programmed
- You need to press the “Unlock” button on your newly programmed Ford Intelligent Access key fob to exit the programming mode.
- Now you can test your Ford Intelligent Access Key fob’s functionality.
