How to Program a Ford Key Fob: Instructions

Programming a Ford key fob can be completed in three easy steps. If you’re still unable to program your Ford key fob after following the steps below, contact our service center for help. A service technician will walk you through how to reprogram a Ford key fob below

1. Close your Ford car doors. Open the driver’s side door and press the “UNLOCK” button on the driver’s side door.
2. Turn the ignition from “OFF” to “RUN” eight times. Do it within ten seconds of each turn, and ending on “RUN.” Now you’ve entered programming mode. The doors will cycle, locking, and unlocking, indicating programming mode. (Note: If the doors don’t cycle, turn the key faster. If they don’t cycle after repeated tries, you may not have keyless entry.)
3. Press any button on your Ford key fob to begin programming within eight seconds of your locks cycling. If the Ford key fob programming is successful, your car locks will cycle again. Programming is now complete.
